What is CPS comic book grading & encapsulation service?

CPS is a Canadian-based solution for retailers and collectors who want to have their collection professionally graded and preserved. Our team of experienced comic book graders, retailers and collectors work to grade and preserve all submissions at standards in line or greater than those of other providers.

Why should I use a Canadian service?

U.S. Based grading services can take time – in some cases nearly 1 year – for submissions to be turned around. In addition, add ons can quickly increase the price, and shipping both ways can be costly. In some cases, you may even have to pay customs.

With CPS, your comics never leave Canada, and our services are flat rate. This keeps costs low, and turn around quick. Most submissions are returned within 30 days, and you can submit your comics directly to us via our network of authorised dealers.

Should I grade my comic books?

Comic Books have become one of the hottest collectibles – ever. During COVID, we observed a sharp increase in the cost of sought after comic books.

If you are a retailer or collector, preserving your collection just makes sense.

What grading options do you offer?

We offer a variety of options to fit your budget and needs as a collector.

CPS Pre-Screening

Not sure if your collection is worth grading? You can submit directly to CPS, or visit one of our authorised dealers.

Cost: $20 for 4 comic books + applicable taxes (and shipping if mailing to CPS)

CPS Pedigree Grading

Have your comic professionally graded and display ready, but still accessible. Your comic can be opened and still enjoyed, and will display perfectly in an 11×17 frame along with grading notes.

Cost: $45 + applicable taxes and shipping.

CPS C-Capsule

This is our highest level of grading service: full encapsulation of your comic, meant to preserve it in is graded state for the long-term. Your item will be preserved in our C-Capsule – a rigid, shatter-proof plastic holder which will allow you to show off your awesome collectible. All C-Capsules include certificates of authenticity, which are verifiable via our registry.
